Lalala App Privacy

This privacy notice explains how the GaelDev Lalala app handles information. Your journal, recordings, calendar items and people are stored on your device. When you transcribe a voice note or extract events from it, the recording or transcript is sent to the AI service you've set up in the app's settings, using your own API key, and nowhere else.
Data the app handles
- Voice recordings and transcripts: Your journal entries, so you can play them back, search them and turn them into calendar items. Where it's kept: On your device. A recording is sent to OpenAI to be transcribed, and the transcript to Anthropic to find events and people, only when you use those features.
- Calendar items, reminders, routines, birthdays and people you mention: To build your calendar and journal from your notes. Where it's kept: On your device.
- Your API keys and settings: To connect to the AI services you choose. Where it's kept: On your device only. They're sent only to the service they belong to.
Permissions
The app asks for these permissions only when a feature needs them. You can refuse or withdraw them in your device settings.
- Microphone: To record voice notes.
- Calendar: Optional: to show your device calendar's events and add accepted events to it.
- Notifications: For reminders, routines and birthdays you set.
- Photos: Optional: to choose a picture as a background for a day or event.
Third-party services
- OpenAI: Transcribes voice recordings when you use transcription with your OpenAI API key. (privacy policy)
- Anthropic (Claude): Reads transcripts to find events, people, birthdays and reminders when you use extraction with your Anthropic API key. (privacy policy)
Data sharing and selling
We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. Data is shared only with the services listed above, and only to provide the app's features.
Deleting your data
Delete individual entries in the app, or delete everything by uninstalling the app or clearing its storage. We don't hold a copy of your data. Data already sent to OpenAI or Anthropic is handled under their policies and your agreement with them.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Legal basis and rights (GDPR)
GaelDev is based in Ireland. We process data to provide the app's features you use (contract) and to keep it reliable (legitimate interests). You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your data, and to object to processing. To exercise these rights, email info@gaeldev.ie. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
Changes
We may update this notice when the app changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
